The collecting phase

Your memory belongs in the record.

BTBW is preparing a secure, review-led contribution service for people whose lives and work are connected to the sea.

Submissions are not open yet. This page does not collect, transmit, or save personal information.

The contribution journey

A story is reviewed before it is ever published.

  1. 01

    Create a private draft

Your account and draft remain outside the public archive.

  2. 02

    Choose how you are named

Anonymous, pseudonymous, or named attribution is your explicit choice.

  3. 03

    Give specific consent

Editing, publication, names, media, translation, and transcription are separate decisions.

  4. 04

    Privacy, rights, and editorial review

Publication is never automatic, and more restrictive decisions take priority.

  5. 05

    Publication with a traceable record

Approved stories receive stable identifiers, revision history, and correction or withdrawal routes.

You can prepare now

Bring only what you are comfortable sharing.

A written account, voice recording, photographs, documents, or a mixture.

Approximate dates, places, vessel types, roles, and context—when known.

Confirmation that you own the material or have permission to contribute it.

Any names, locations, health information, or events that require special care.

Secure intake status

Intake remains safely closed

Authentication, encrypted drafts, private media, approved consent text, and staff review must all pass together. Until then, BTBW accepts no personal information.

Questions about the future contribution service may be sent to btbw@vauwr.com. Please do not email testimony, personal records, or sensitive material while intake is closed.
