Our commitment
BTBW targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This is a target, not a claim of full conformance. We have not yet completed an independent audit or representative assistive-technology user study.
What is currently supported
- Semantic page landmarks, headings, labels, and conventional navigation.
- Keyboard-visible focus and keyboard access to the interactive story map.
- A text-based map alternative and privacy-generalised location descriptions.
- Responsive layouts and zoom/reflow support on representative screen sizes.
- Reduced-motion handling for Anime.js motion and no autoplaying media.
- Truthful empty, loading, disabled, and error states.
Known limitations
- The authenticated contributor and staff journeys are not open to the public.
- A complete screen-reader and independent accessibility audit is still required.
- No real archive media exists yet, so captions and transcripts cannot yet be tested on representative published material.
- The interactive map is visually dense; its textual list is the simpler alternative.
Feedback and alternative formats
If you find an accessibility problem or need information in another format, email btbw@vauwr.com. Please identify the page or material and the format or adjustment that would help. We will acknowledge your message and tell you what we can do as soon as reasonably possible.
Preparation and review
This statement was reviewed on 6 September 2026 from code review, automated checks, and representative keyboard, reduced-motion, zoom, and responsive testing. It will be reviewed after the pre-publication accessibility audit and whenever a material new public journey is released.
